#Tecámac, #Edoméx.- In her first government report of her second term, municipal president Mariela Gutiérrez Escalante said that Tecámac is living a historic moment, as it is a national leader in the implementation of public works, as well as establishing programmed that have re-established the social fabric in communities that were forgotten in past administrations.

With the start-up of the Felipe Angeles International Airport (AIFA), the municipality has become the new economic development pole of the region, providing growth opportunities for the inhabitants, she said.

In the presence of the Senator of the Republic, Delfina Gómez Álvarez, the mayor stressed that governing with honesty and efficiency has consolidated the transformation of Tecámac, providing better and greater security, urban infrastructure and social programmed.

She pointed out that in the last four years, 2.6 million square metres of streets and avenues have been paved in Tecámac, of which 500,000 were completed in 2022, including Cancún Avenue, Vía Real, and the low bridge on the Lechería-Texcoco federal highway, among others.

At the Convention Centre, and before the personal representative of the Governor of the State of Mexico, Alfredo Del Mazo Maza, the Secretary of Education, Gerardo Monroy Serrano, said that the drainage network in the communities of San Lucas Xolox, Ojo de Agua, San Pedro Atzompa and the main collector of the municipal capital were strengthened with these major works.

During her message, the mayoress pointed out that the Civil Guard is the best paid police force in the State of Mexico, and that her administration has increased the force from 600 to 900 elements, who are certified and trained to provide prompt and timely attention to the inhabitants. With these actions, a 20 percent reduction in high-impact crimes was achieved, and the municipality is no longer one of the 25 most insecure municipalities in the State of Mexico.

Gutiérrez Escalante said that among the programmed that were implemented in 2022, and which have had the greatest impact on the population, was the creation of the Puerta Violeta system, where 2,078 people in need of professional attention were attended to, as they were suffering from some type of violence; 70 percent of whom are women and the rest minors.

She emphasized that Tecámac is the first municipality in the State of Mexico to have a Civic Justice System, in accordance with the national programmed; 23,659 people were attended to in the last 12 months, always in accordance with human rights and the dignified treatment of offenders.

Among the works that have been implemented during this first year of her second administration, the mayoress pointed out the construction of three mother and child clinics in the communities of Héroes de Tecámac, Lomas de Tecámac and Los Reyes Acozac, which will help to reduce the backlog in the health system caused by the state government’s lack of attention to this sector.

Another of the measures he implemented in the area of health was the rehabilitation of the facilities of the health centres in San Mateo, San Pedro Atzompa, Loma Bonita, La Esmeralda, Ozumbilla, 5 de Mayo and San Jerónimo with municipal resources, which are in charge of the state government, he explained.

With the completion of this and other works, Gutiérrez Escalante was confident that the best is yet to come, as the people of Tecamaquense prefer to continue on the path of progress and development.
