#SE.- The Secretary of Economy, Raquel Buenrostro, visited the offices of the Secretary of Commerce of the United States, Gina M. Raimondo, to continue their first virtual meeting.

Both officials agreed that the main pillars on which the region’s economic development rests are energy security, food security and national security.

During the meeting, several topics were discussed, including the relocation of companies from Asia to North America and the strengthening of supply chains, particularly in the printed circuit board and semiconductor sectors.

They pointed out that the relocation of companies is a historic opportunity for the strengthening and economic integration of North America. Both governments agreed that, through the High Level Economic Dialogue (HLED), coordination will be strengthened to generate better conditions and accelerate the arrival of new investments to Mexico.

Buenrostro commented that Mexico has the availability of a labor force with technical, professional and research training, as well as inter-institutional coordination mechanisms to train the labor talent required by new companies.
