#GobiernoDeMéxico.- «The Mayan Train is a work that is not being done anywhere in the world today; it is a pride of our civil and military engineering,» said President Andrés Manuel López Obrador during the supervision of the construction of this project.

In Tulum, he verified the alternative implemented by the Secretariat of National Defense with the objective of protecting the ecosystem in the stretch that includes this area. It is an elevated viaduct that will cause a minimum impact on subway rivers and caverns.

In a video in his social networks, the President indicated that «the purpose is not to cause the least damage to the surroundings, to nature, to the environment».

He added that the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) assumes the rescue and preservation of the archaeological heritage located in the 1,550 kilometers of the route.

He reaffirmed the commitment to inaugurate the Mayan Train in 2024 with all the stations and infrastructure necessary for its operation, in addition to the Tulum International Airport.
