For the first time Mexicans will dance the work of German choreographer Sasha Waltz, an icon of world dance / @alefrausto @cultura_mx >>>

#Cultura.- The Centro Nacional de las Artes (Cenart), an institution of the Mexican Ministry of Culture, will host a historic dance event. For the first time, Mexican dancers will perform one of the emblematic works of the German choreographer Sasha Waltz, who is considered an icon of world dance. In C is the title of the choreographic piece that will be performed from December 8 to 11 at Cenart’s Teatro de las Artes.

This dance event will be made possible thanks to the Mexican production company MOVES, directed by Eleno Guzmán Gutiérrez, in co-production with Cultura Jalisco, through the Escuela de Artes de Jalisco and Cultura UDG, with the support of Conjunto Santander de Artes Escénicas.

In 2002 the company Sasha Waltz & Guests performed in Mexico for the first time at the Palacio de Bellas Artes with the work Korper, which was and still is a work that marks a before and after in contemporary dance. Since then a piece by the German choreographer had not been presented in our country. In December 2022, Mexican audiences will be able to see one of her creations.

The production company MOVES invited dancers interested in being part of the revival of In C and selected 10 Mexican performers from different entities of our country, who will share the stage with two dancers from the company of the prestigious German: the Spanish Lorena Justribó and the Mexican Aladino Rivera Blanca, the only talent from our country who has danced in this group and who was listed in 2017 by FORBES magazine as one of the 100 best Mexican creators.
