Puercoespines Teatro seeks to connect with its audience through stories about life and comedy / @alefrausto @cultura_mx >>>

#SecretaríaDeCultura.- Since 2008, when Héctor Castañeda formed the company Puercoespines Teatro, he knew that his work should focus on the production of plays that had an aesthetic variety that would keep them in the public’s taste and for that, he resorted to the creation of texts that seek to decipher the meanings of life through comedy.

According to the director from Colima, the play that saw their birth as a company was precisely Porcupine, a play based on the text by French-Canadian writer David Paquet, which uses farce and black humor to show love as a cyclical feeling, which is experienced over and over again in different ways and with different results that do not take into account age or time.

«We had already had an important history of work with the province of Quebec, from different linkage programs with Colima; then, there comes a time when an exchange of artists and texts begins to occur and it was precisely in that wave that we found this text; finally in 2008 all the necessary arrangements were made to carry out the world premiere of this staging in the state, already under the name of Puercoespines Teatro», says Héctor Castañeda.

He also points out that it was from that play that the company began with the staging and execution of different production formats, all with the firm conviction of creating more and more audiences in Colima interested in the performing arts.
