#ISSSTE.- In the first minutes of January 1, 2023, the first baby of the year was born at the Tacuba Hospital of the Instituto de Seguridad y Servicios Sociales de los Trabajadores del Estado (Issste) in Mexico City, a male baby weighing 2,830 grams and measuring 47 centimeters, who will be named Juan Manuel and has an Apgar score of 9, which means he is in good health.

The general director of the institute, Pedro Zenteno Santaella, congratulated the lucky mother and father of this baby for the trust they placed in Issste for the birth of their son.

His parents, María Guadalupe Vargas Camacho, and Iván Licea López, a worker of the Mexican Postal Service (Sepomex), expressed their excitement at the birth of their second child. «It was a celebration. It is a very nice feeling, especially at this time of year, they send you New Year’s greetings, a hug, and on this occasion the congratulations were double. Our New Year’s party was here, in this hospital».

Before receiving the birth certificate and expressing that she jokingly told her husband that their baby would be born on January 1st, and despite the fact that in an ultrasound they told her they would have a boy, which she did not believe «because then they are wrong», Vargas Camacho thanked the medical and nursing staff for the good treatment they received during two days, since they arrived at the hospital, during the birth and until the end of the care.
