IMSS promotes timely treatment for pediatric oncology patients in Tabasco / @zoerobledo @Tu_IMSS >>>

#IMSS.- The Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) is permanently promoting timely diagnosis in order to initiate treatment for pediatric oncology patients at the State Reference Center for the Care of Children with Cancer (ONCOCREAN) at the General Zone Hospital (HGZ) No. 46 in Villahermosa, Tabasco.

During the 110th meeting of the working group between IMSS authorities and the mothers and fathers of children with cancer, the head of the Oncology Care Coordination, Dr. Enrique López Aguilar, reported that after a follow-up visit to the unit on January 27, it was confirmed that actions have been strengthened to initiate the oncology treatment required by patients in the entity.

He added that the ONCOCREAN of Tabasco has a physical space for the administration of outpatient chemotherapy exclusively for children, continuous training is provided by nurses in the handling of the port catheter and there is a working group made up of the heads of Medical Assistants, Emergency, Nursing and Pediatrics.

In a virtual session, Enrique Lopez commented that this State Reference Center provides excellent care by providing services through adequate spaces, continuous training for doctors and nurses, diagnostic and therapeutic opportunities, coverage of health personnel, availability of basic medicines and targeted therapies, and the application of new diagnostic technologies.
