Communities in Section 4 of the Mayan Train gain access to Well-Being Programs / @lopezobrador_ @GobiernoMX >>>

#GobiernoDeMéxico.- The Welfare Programs benefit 574,597 people from nine municipalities and 17 localities of section 4 of the Mayan Train, which runs from Izamal, Yucatán, to Cancún, Quintana Roo, informed the Secretary of Welfare, Ariadna Montiel Reyes.

The official participated in the weekly report on the Mayan Train with President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and detailed that the social investment for this support amounts to 13,522 million pesos.

Additionally, 62 thousand local jobs have been generated; 200 social projects are supported and where the Mayan Train will pass through, the Integral Development Plan promotes housing actions, indicated the General Director of the National Fund for the Promotion of Tourism, Javier May Rodríguez.

Protection of the environment and preservation of culture are fundamental in the Tren Maya project

Environmental care is a priority in the construction and operation of the Mayan Train; the total mitigation of 4.99 million tons of carbon dioxide from 2019 to 2030 is estimated, explained the Secretary of Environment and Natural Resources, María Luisa Albores González.

The Sembrando Vida program, as well as the creation of Natural Protected and Conservation Areas, are climate change mitigation measures. Section 4, which has 239 kilometers of electrified double track, will reduce 0.598 million tons of carbon dioxide between 2024-2030 because it will replace the use of internal combustion vehicles for passenger transportation.
