#ISSSTE.- Pedro Zenteno Santaella, General Director of the Instituto de Seguridad y Servicios Sociales de los Trabajadores del Estado (Issste), inaugurated the new Family Medicine Unit (UMF) in Tejupilco, which replaces the previous building, with the aim of extending care to 14,100 beneficiaries in the southern region of the State of Mexico, part of Guerrero and Michoacán.

«We set out to deliver functioning facilities. We do not lay first stones, we do not inaugurate unfinished works that end up becoming white elephants. President Andrés Manuel López Obrador’s instruction is to improve infrastructure to guarantee the human right to health.»

Previously, the head of the organism specified that the new UMF, besides attending five thousand 634 patients from this municipality, provides service to affiliated people from Amatepec, Luvianos, Otzolotepec, San Simón de Guerrero, Santo Tomás, Sultepec, Temascaltepec, Texcaltitlán, Tlatlaya, Valle de Bravo and Zacazonapan, as well as general population in case of medical emergency.

He expressed that these actions are the result of the supervision of more than 300 medical units throughout the country, as this is a commitment made on January 10, 2022, when he visited the UMF of the municipality.
