«IMSS-Bienestar» in Quintana Roo will benefit 854 thousand people without Social Security: Zoé Robledo / @zoerobledo @Tu_IMSS >>>

#IMSS.- Upon presenting the Diagnosis of the Health Services of the State of Quintana Roo, as part of the implementation of the IMSS-Bienestar Health Plan, the Director General of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), Zoé Robledo, informed that there are around 854,000 people in the state without Social Security and this is the potential population to be attended in the facilities currently operated by the state services.

In a work meeting with Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa and the director of the Instituto de Salud para el Bienestar (Insabi), Juan Antonio Ferrer Aguilar, Zoé Robledo indicated that during two weeks a diagnostic survey was carried out in Quintana Roo with 50 people who visited 205 First Level units, both the 124 rural ones that are for General Medicine consultation, the 46 urban Health Centers, 17 Medical Specialty Units (UNEMES) and 18 Mobile Units; the five Second Level general hospitals were also visited.

«Some of the things we identified are on the subject of equipment, services; for example, there are four operating rooms that we have to make some investment to put them into operation, an expulsion room, X-Ray equipment, MRIs and others, we believe there is a lot of opportunity to have better productivity,» he assured.

He said that one of the main problems inherited by the Seguro Popular model was the lack of personnel, «the problem was that a hospital, even if it has all its infrastructure, all its equipment, even the supplies, if it does not have personnel, it is a building that does not save lives or does not heal. Especially in the area of medical specialists, where we believe there is an important gap that can be filled.
