ELSSA reaches for the first time a 100 percent essential sector, the financial sector: Zoé Robledo / @zoerobledo @Tu_IMSS >>>

#IMSS.- For the first time, the Safe and Healthy Workplace Environments (ELSSA) program reaches a 100 percent essential sector: the financial sector, which did not stop its activities during the pandemic and was exemplary for the actions it took to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS, said the Director General of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), Zoé Robledo.

During the signing of the National Agreement for the Health, Safety and Welfare of Working People, with the Association of Banks of Mexico, held at the Mexican Bankers Club, Zoé Robledo highlighted that ELSSA is the Social Security’s approach to the post-pandemic world whose implementation has already been achieved in the mining, tourism, aerospace and now the banking sector.

«You never stopped just like IMSS, along with power generation, security services, were among the sectors that never stopped,» he highlighted.

The General Director of Social Security acknowledged the efforts of the banking sector to face the pandemic, since at the beginning of 2020, in the event of incapacity due to respiratory illnesses, people had to go to the bank to get paid, for which reason a remote permit was generated to avoid contagions during the trips to the doctor’s office or to the bank, and from this a lot was learned.

Zoé Robledo emphasized that ELSSA tries to provide decent work, since there is enough data to agree on a strategy of this nature because the direct cost of absenteeism due to illnesses such as diabetes or hypertension generates 50 thousand days not worked in the country, more than 4 million days lost due to work accidents.
