XXVI National Meeting of Art and Culture of the DGETI begins in Mexico City / @Letamaya @SEP_mx >>>

#SEP.- The Ministry of Public Education (SEP), through the Undersecretary of Higher Secondary Education and the General Directorate of Industrial Technological Education and Services (DGETI), began the XXVI National Meeting of Art and Culture, ENAC 2023, an event for young people from the country’s technological high schools.

Currently, the DGETI is the country’s largest technological secondary education institution, with a physical infrastructure of 456 schools, of which 168 are Industrial and Services Technological Studies Centers (Cetis) and 288 Industrial and Services Technological Baccalaureate Centers (CBTIS); it also promotes the creation of at least 614 Scientific and Technological Studies Colleges in the States (Cecyte), which operate under a decentralized system.

During the inauguration of the meeting, held at the «Esperanza Iris» City Theater, the Undersecretary for Higher Secondary Education, Nora Ruvalcaba Gámez, stressed the importance of ensuring that the youth entering these DGETI subsystems are trained not only in academia, but also as upstanding, critical, democratic and, above all, participatory individuals.

Accompanied by the general director of the Fondo de Cultura Económica (FCE), Paco Ignacio Taibo II, the undersecretary emphasized that the risks that keep them away from this path are sometimes drugs or mental states related to depression.

She pointed out that the Fourth Transformation was only possible thanks to the revolution of consciences that managed to sow in people’s hearts, but above all, in their souls, a project and a different life model; people were made aware that they can change and transform their environment.
