«Tamaulipas has the renowned ‘Biosphere Reserve, El Cielo’, declared by UNESCO in 1986 as part of the World Network of Biosphere Reserves and of course, we must not forget its wonderful Magical Towns: Tula and Mier, which can be enjoyed by our tourists during this holiday period of Holy Week and Easter,» he said.

He informed that for this season, which runs from Saturday, April 1 to Sunday, April 16, 2023, the arrival of 5 million 816 thousand tourists to hotel is estimated, which compared to the same period of 2019, means a recovery of 96.4%, and of which 4 million 468 thousand will be nationals, representing 76.8%.

Likewise, during this holiday period, the arrival of 6 million 871 thousand domestic tourists is expected, who will stay with family and friends, as well as in second homes. «In total, 11.3 million domestic tourists will visit the different destinations in our country,» he said.

Torruco Marqués indicated that 1 million 125 thousand tourists are also expected to stay in shared economy establishments, through digital platforms.
