#ISSSTE.- The General Director of the Instituto de Seguridad y Servicios Sociales de los Trabajadores del Estado (Issste), Pedro Zenteno Santaella, handed over post-pandemic adaptations of the continuous admission areas for adults and pediatrics, the burn unit and the outpatient ward for family members at the Centro Médico Nacional (CMN) «20 de Noviembre», works that began in November 2022.

In order to respond to problems, two elements are fundamental: common sense and practical judgment, which is demonstrated today by what has been done in the Institute’s flagship hospital. These are places that have not been modified since 1994. The objective is to provide better care, not only to patients, but also to their families, said the head of the organization.

«In the 15 months that remain of the administration, we must continue to take precision shots, as we did here at the CMN; we must not leave anything half done, everything must be handed over in full working order, solving short, medium and long-term needs, so that Issste can recover its capacity for resolution. For this reason, we are all fighting in a profound transformation, to guarantee the human right to health.»

He added that Issste will be at the forefront nationally when it ends with integrated services. «That is the part that we are going to leave as a legacy in this organism and a very important step are the general hospitals with 250 census beds that are being built, one in Jalisco and another in Coahuila; additionally, another general hospital with 150 beds in Tamaulipas and two hospital clinics, one in Baja California Sur and another in Chiapas, which will be operating at 100 percent in the first quarter of 2024.»
