Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard meets with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea / @SRE_mx @m_ebrard >>>

#SRE.- The Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Marcelo Ebrard Casaubon, held a meeting today with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, Park Jin, at the headquarters of the Mexican Foreign Ministry. This meeting contributed to strengthening the bilateral relationship. This is Minister Park’s first visit to our country. Last July, Minister Park received Secretary Ebrard in Seoul.

The foreign ministers welcomed the deepening of political dialogue and reaffirmed their commitment to the continued strengthening of the Strategic Partnership for Mutual Prosperity established in 2005, with a view to ensuring that ties reach their full potential in all areas. Mexico and the Republic of Korea established diplomatic relations more than 61 years ago.

They highlighted the relevance of the growing trade and investment exchanges, especially the participation of Korean companies in important infrastructure projects in Mexico, such as the Dos Bocas Refinery in Tabasco. For this reason, they agreed to continue promoting bilateral economic ties.

They also agreed to deepen technical and scientific cooperation, as well as educational and cultural cooperation, through the upcoming celebration of the respective Joint Commissions, as well as collaboration in the fields of health and aerospace.
