#SRE.- As part of the FASSST Entrepreneurship Summit held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Friday, May 12, Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard Casaubón presented the Plan of 42 actions to transform Mexico’s startup sector.

The event brought together businessmen, entrepreneurs, investment funds, as well as government officials in order to dialogue and jointly promote innovative solutions to Mexico’s social and economic challenges.

«I see a lot of work, there are 42 proposals, some are immediate, others will take us a little more time and some will take us more, more, more, more, more time. What is our time horizon? A decade, we don’t have more time,» stated the Secretary of Foreign Affairs.

«So I believe that, one: we can achieve it; two: we do want to; and three: we do know what needs to be done; who says so? you, here we have it: 42 actions that have been worked on in one year,» added the Mexican Foreign Minister.

«Well, how can we not be able to do things? Why? Who said? Here are all the startups, the companies, the institutions, in other words, our country is immense, I say it is destined for greatness, we just need to do what we are doing today,» said Secretary Ebrard.

Following the working model of forums such as the G20, attendees exchanged their views on the role of startups and innovative companies in helping to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The roundtables addressed topics as diverse as ending poverty, sustainable cities, health and wellness, quality education, gender equality, economic growth, and peace and security.
