#GobiernoDeMéxico.- In the weekly report on the Mayan Train, headed by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, the general director of the National Fund for Tourism Development, Javier May Rodríguez, informed that section 3, from Calkiní, Campeche to Izamal, Yucatán, reports 81 percent of the track finished; that is, 129 kilometers built of the total 159 kilometers included in the route.

«As with the entire route, work continues, even with three shifts, in order to fulfill the commitment to inaugurate the Mayan Train in December 2023,» he pointed out.

A quality of this section, he said, is that it includes 60 kilometers of electrified double track and the construction of an electric traction substation, which is 96 percent complete.

«The electrified track means the use of clean energy for the operation of the Mayan Train, which contributes to a better environment and, in addition, will provide the peninsula with energy sufficiency so that the population will no longer suffer from blackouts,» he said.

Section 3 includes the construction of three viaducts, 69 transversal drainage works and underpasses, as well as 118 pedestrian, vehicular and fauna crossings, which will generate 11 thousand jobs for local labor in Campeche and Yucatán, especially in the 15 municipalities through which the great mobility project crosses.
