México, Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden strengthen ties and cooperation during Nordic Day 2023 / @SE_mx >>>

#SE.- The Ministry of Economy and the embassies in México of Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden organized the fourth edition of Sustainable Solutions: Nordic Day 2023, with the aim of promoting cooperation and establishing contacts to create sustainable solutions between the Mexican and Nordic nations, with a multidisciplinary approach in the public, private and academic sectors.

The inauguration of the event, held at the facilities of the Ministry of Economy, was led by the head of the International Trade Negotiations Unit of this agency, Vicente Peredo Vázquez; the ambassadors of the Nordic countries: Norway’s Ragnhild Imerslund; Finland’s Päivi Pohjanheimo; Denmark’s Kim Højlund Christensen; and Sweden’s Gunnar Aldén; who agreed on an inclusive green transition, as well as seeking public-private collaboration mechanisms for the fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

As part of the activities of this event, a keynote panel was held, where sustainable innovation and technology solutions implemented by Nordic companies in Mexico were presented, as well as the importance of the 2030 Agenda; in addition, four thematic tables were held, in which challenges, opportunities and lessons learned on sustainable agriculture and food security, energy efficiency, electromobility and the role of education technologies in the labor market insertion were exchanged.

The Ministry of Economy also gave a presentation on the main reasons to invest in México and the sustainable investment opportunities offered by the Interoceanic Corridor of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec (CIIT) to Nordic and Mexican companies.
