#Celaya, #Gto.- In order to offer a better space for the 120 older adults who visit the Casa Día gerontological center every day, its facilities were remodeled with an investment of close to 500,000 pesos between the DIF Celaya System and the Oxxo chain.

«Casa Día is of utmost importance for us as DIF Celaya System, because every day we receive between 90 and 120 seniors with whom we carry out physical activations, motivational talks, cachibol, choir, knitting, embroidery, among other activities whose purpose is to improve their quality of life and now, with the remodeling of the kitchen and bathrooms, we can offer more comfortable and dignified facilities for you», said the president of the DIF Board, Rosa María Suárez de Mendoza during the reopening held this Thursday, June 8.

According to María del Carmen Núñez Mares, General Director of DIF, the works were focused on the improvement of the kitchen, dining room, sinks, bathrooms and painting in general, as well as the rehabilitation of gardens and exteriors, whose total investment was 496 thousand 39 pesos, of which 351 thousand 709 pesos were the municipal entity’s own resources; 141 thousand 667 pesos from Redondeo Oxxo and 2 thousand 663 pesos as a donation in kind from Pisos y Más de Celaya.

«This is a magical place because here wills, love, hope, work, participation and commitment come together. I hope you enjoy it and make the most of it,» said Celaya’s Municipal President, Francisco Javier Mendoza Márquez, during his message.

Mrs. Rosita added that without the support of the citizens who say yes to the Oxxo rounding up, it would not have been possible to offer a pleasant stay for the senior citizens of Celaya.
