Deadline extended for cargo airlines to move their operations from the AICM / @jorgenunol @SCT_mx >>>

#SICT.- The Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT) informs that the head of the Federal Executive proposes to extend 40 more working days, from 108 to 148, the entry into force of the Decree that establishes the closing of the operations of concessionaires and permit holders that provide regular and non-scheduled national and international air transportation services to the public exclusively for cargo at Mexico City’s International Airport «Benito Juarez».

The amending Decree, which was made public by the National Commission for Regulatory Improvement (CONAMER), states that the new term arises from the various working groups held between the aeronautical authority and the concessionaires and permit holders that provide such service, with the purpose of duly concluding the actions that will allow compliance with the closure of cargo operations at the Mexico City air terminal.

Domestic and foreign cargo airlines that had a deadline of July 7 of this year to transfer their operations from the AICM, will have a new deadline of September 1, 2023.

This extension guarantees compliance with technical and operational conditions, as well as maximum operational safety of concessionaires and permit holders that provide air transportation services to the public, both domestic and international, scheduled and non-scheduled, exclusively for cargo, in the relocation of their operations.

The amendment would become effective the day after its publication in the Official Gazette of the Federation.
