San Miguel de Allende administration works on environmental conservation / @MauricioTrejoP @GobMunicipalSMA >>>

#SanMiguelDeAllende, #Gto.- Following the environmental policy of President Mauricio Trejo, the natural areas in San Miguel de Allende continue to be preserved through teamwork between citizens and the Municipal Government.

Therefore, the Directorate of Environment and Sustainability activated the project for the conservation of flora in the rural area, to retain soil nutrients, its natural moisture and afforestation accompanied by the inhabitants of each beneficiary locality.

This activity was born with the objective of helping the communities and hills to fill with native plants of the region, which serve to forest the natural areas of San Miguel that have been affected in recent years, mainly due to the natural loss of trees due to drought and lack of human attention to their environment.

Another of the objectives of these actions is to develop tree retention terraces, which function as a method of water and soil conservation through the use of organic waste.

An example in this sense is the support to the cucharilla plant conservation project by the students of the Advanced High School and Higher Education System (Sabes) of the Agustin Gonzalez community, with whom the conservation of the environment continues to be strengthened, starting with their first preserved hectare in this rural locality, using their organic waste to conserve humidity and nourish the trees. The cucharilla is also a plant used for traditional religious festivities in San Miguel de Allende and the region.
