#Tecámac, #Edoméx.- More than 120 workers from the municipality of Tecámac carried out cleanup work in the area affected by the heavy rains that occurred on Monday afternoon in San Pedro Atzompa.

From early in the morning, personnel from the Decentralized Public Organization for the Provision of Drinking Water, Sewage and Sanitation Services (ODAPAS), Civil Protection and Firefighters and the General Directorate of Ecology and Environmental Management, carried out the work on 16 de Septiembre, Los Maestros and Leona Vicaria streets, among others.

With the support of 20 vehicular units including water pipes and the vactor unit, the workers removed mud, garbage and washed the affected streets.

Personnel from the DIF system and Social Development of Tecámac conducted a census of the families affected by the flooding of their homes, in order to know their needs and the loss of their property in order to include them in a support program. The director of the DIF system, Carlos Galindo, pointed out that in the first report at 5:00 a.m. this Tuesday, there are approximately 23 houses affected; 20 in San Pedro Atzompa; two in the urban complex Galaxias «El Llano» and one in the Ojo de Agua subdivision.

He emphasized that Mayoress Mariela Gutiérrez Escalante instructed to attend to the families who suffered damage and to know the degree of damage to each of the houses.

She specified that thanks to the hydraulic infrastructure works that have been carried out during this administration, there were no major damages.

He recommended to the population, especially in this rainy season, not to throw garbage into the drainage system or throw it on the public road, since this was one of the main causes for the pump of the well in the area to stop working for an hour.

For information on the people affected, please call the Civil Guard’s emergency telephone number 59 38 8888, or contact the administration’s official social networks.
