#GobiernoDeMéxico.- President Andrés Manuel López Obrador received Estela de Carlotto, founder of the Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo, a non-governmental organization created in 1977 in favor of human rights in Argentina, in the Treasury Room of the National Palace.

«She is a symbol of resistance, of the defense of human rights and, at the same time, Estela is the defender in Latin America, (…) those who suffer, suffer from authoritarianism. May fascism never again return to our America», he stressed.

Offering a message at the morning press conference, the activist pointed out that for 45 years she has been part of the struggle in Argentina against the forced disappearance of people.

«Being a grandmother, a mother, we have this double task of searching that is impossible to stop doing; I am 92 years old, I am going to be 93, but as long as I have a cane or a chair and people see that I have my brain lucid, I will continue so that this never happens again. It is not a word, it is a necessity for all the peoples of Latin America», he expressed.

«Let’s tighten the embraces of all Latin America for truth, memory, justice and never again,» she added.

The searcher of daughters and sons who disappeared in Argentina during the last military dictatorship recognized Mexico as a brother country through time.
