#EstadoDeQuintanaRoo.- With a call to empowerment, to fight against violence, to be strong and free, Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa, led the start of the delivery of Mujer Es Poder cards in the south of the state, where 6,758 plastic cards were distributed in Bacalar and Chetumal.

«When corruption is fought, money is used for more. These cards contain money from the people for the people, and what we want is for there to be more empowered women, who do not allow aggressions, threats, vicarious violence. We want strong women,» said Mara Lezama before handing out the first cards one by one.

The total number of beneficiaries of the support cards of the Mujer es Poder program is 39,600 women. The first delivery was in Benito Juarez, benefiting 12,284 women.

Flanked by Martina Beatriz Yam Avilés and Nancy Guzmán Reyes, the first two women to receive their cards in Chetumal, Governor Mara Lezama called on all those present to join the New Agreement for the Well-being and Development of Quintana Roo, to do their part and combat violence head-on.

«I do believe them, they are not alone, they have a government ally. That is why, looking you in the eyes I can tell you that there is more support for you, with the caravans and the welfare units, with a new hospital that we are about to lay the first stone, with the opening of the Oncology Hospital. I am not one of those who promise much and deliver little,» emphasized Mara Lezama.
