Tourism GDP grew 8.4% in the 1st Quarter of 2023 / @TorrucoTurismo @SECTUR_mx >>>
#SECTUR.- The head of the Ministry of Tourism (Sectur), pointed out that, upon analyzing the trend observed in these two indicators, a sustained recovery trajectory stands out in the Tourism GDP since, in its annual comparison it registered an increase of 8.4% in real terms and shows a recovery of 6.5 percentage points compared to the annual variation of the first quarter of 2019 (1.9%).
Torruco Marqués highlighted that, the Quarterly Tourism GDP Indicator reported an increase of 8.4%; while the National GDP grew 3.6%, compared to the first quarter of 2022.
He informed that, by components of the Tourism GDP in its annual rate, goods grew 4.3% and services 9.2% in real terms. Meanwhile, with respect to the previous quarter, goods registered a growth of 0.6%, while services registered a growth of 0.1%.
In parallel, the Quarterly Indicator of Domestic Tourist Consumption in its annual comparison, presented an increase of 8.8%, showing a recovery of 7 percentage points compared to the annual variation of the first quarter of 2019 (1.8%).
With respect to the previous quarter, Domestic Tourism Consumption, which is equivalent to the sum of domestic tourism consumption and inbound tourism consumption, registered an increase of 0.4% in real terms, said the Secretary of Tourism.
