#SRE.- In connection with Mexico’s participation in the second round of informal consultations regarding the conflict between the Russian Federation and Ukraine, to be held in Saudi Arabia on August 5 and 6, the Government of Mexico declares its support for the presentation and progress of peace plans and proposals aimed at ending the conflict.

Mexico expresses its commitment to full respect for International Law, International Humanitarian Law and the Charter of the United Nations. Mexico supports that these issues be dealt with in the United Nations, with the participation of all parties involved.

Our country remains attentive to the evolution of the facts and the plans presented, while calling for a ceasefire. It also reiterates its willingness to collaborate in peace talks, as demonstrated by the proposal presented by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador to create a group of countries and international actors that could serve as mediators between the two sides.
