#Ecatepec, #Edoméx.- Personnel from the municipal DIF system and veterinarians from the Centro de Atención Canina y Felina de Ecatepec (CACyFE) rescued a dog, apparently a pit bull, which was beaten by a group of people in the streets of the Ciudad Cuauhtémoc neighborhood.

The president of the municipal DIF system, Esmeralda Vallejo Martínez, informed that neighbors of the place requested the help of the municipal government to provide shelter and veterinary attention to the dog.

She indicated that CACyFE personnel went to the site where the aggression took place to protect the dog and provide it with the necessary care to protect its life.

This, after a video went viral on social networks where a group of men cornered the dog against the curtain of a store to start kicking him, without the dog attacking his aggressors and even when he manages to escape and move away from his victimizers, the subjects follow him to continue attacking him.

According to the preliminary evaluation by CACyFE veterinarians, the dog is found to be polycontused and has injuries on his face and probably has a skull fracture, for which reason it is necessary to continue with the clinical analysis to provide adequate treatment and restore the animal’s health.

Vallejo Martínez indicated that the municipal government personnel filed a complaint before the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Mexico (FGJEM) to find those responsible for the attack and punish them according to the law.
