#SECTUR.- This workshop was attended by personnel and representatives of business organizations, tourism companies, civil society organizations, universities, unions and public institutions, with the purpose of joining efforts to prevent human trafficking, mainly for the purpose of sexual and labor exploitation of children and adolescents, as well as to promote the adoption of the National Code of Conduct, and contribute to the dissemination of a culture of reporting in the travel and tourism sector.

In his participation, Rosillo Iglesias invited the participants to join this alliance, in the face of the dilemma of whether to continue in inertia or take action, to remain dispersed or be united, to work with conviction or by obligation, and to make the decision to adopt a personal commitment to the freedom of people in the tourism sector.

The director of the Freedom Foundation, Emilio Maus, was the main speaker at the workshop, which presented cases and methods used by criminals to carry out this illegal practice, informing of the actions that can be taken by companies, institutions and civil society to discourage this activity and protect victims, giving as an example the film Sound of Freedom, which they are involved in disseminating as a mechanism for raising awareness and implementing programs to eradicate this phenomenon.

Likewise, the director of Sectur’s Gender Equality Unit, Claudia García Zaragoza, gave guidelines for hotels and tourism companies to adopt the Code of Conduct for the Protection of Children and Adolescents in the Travel and Tourism Sector.
