México, ready to strengthen the North American region / @SE_mx >>>

#Economía.- The Secretary of Economy, Raquel Buenrostro Sánchez, made a working visit to Washington, D.C., to participate in the High Level Economic Dialogue (HLED) between Mexico and the United States, where she presented Mexico’s progress in promoting supply chains and workforce development, among other actions that will strengthen the North American region.

In the meeting with the Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Alicia Bárcena; the U.S. Secretary of State, Antony Blinken; the Secretary of Commerce, Gina Raimondo; and the U.S. Trade Representative, Ambassador Katherine Tai; the Minister of Economy assured that this is the best moment in the economic relationship between Mexico and the United States, trade exchange levels are the highest in history and our country is its first trading partner.

Among the topics discussed were the strengthening of supply chains in several strategic sectors so as not to be so dependent on other Asian countries; progress in the work of the two countries to have the strongest semiconductor chain and optimize all Information and Communications Technology markets; as well as the inclusion of micro, small and medium-sized companies in the value chains.

He called on both nations to continue working in a coordinated manner to make North America the most important economic integration site for relocation.

Within the framework of the HLED, Secretary Buenrostro held a bilateral meeting with Ambassador Katherine Tai, where they discussed the progress of the trade agenda between the two countries; they also addressed the issue of improving efforts to monitor trade in steel and aluminum; and those related to the energy sector.
