#Economía.- The Ministry of Economy, in charge of the Executive Secretariat of the National Council of the 2030 Agenda, presented the Youth Network for the 2030 Agenda and held the First National Convention for the 2030 Agenda, a space where political actors, social organizations and young people agreed on the importance of promoting innovative actions for Sustainable Development.

Today, during the closing ceremony, after pointing out that young people are the present that is building the future, the head of Economy, Raquel Buenrostro Sánchez, said that committed youth gives hope to all and celebrated that the conceptual rhetoric has been lowered to territory. «Because it is very different an academic document, than applying it in real life and that is being made possible today with the ambassadors,» she said.

In his speech, the Undersecretary of Foreign Trade, Alejandro Encinas Nájera, was pleased to report that the Convention exceeded expectations. «These spaces for dialogue are necessary to articulate efforts and renew ideas. For this reason, he announced that this forum will be held annually, in some part of the country. He asked that «this exercise be reproduced at the local level to talk about the specific characteristics of each state, each city and, if possible, each community.

For her part, the representative of the United Nations Women’s Organization in Mexico, Belén Sanz Luque, recognized Mexico’s commitment to the 2030 Agenda; and indicated that the country has made significant progress in different indicators and maintains clarity on where the challenges lie. «Mexico is a benchmark in the progress of the 2030 Agenda,» she said.

The Youth Network for the 2030 Agenda is made up of 32 youth ambassadors from each of the country’s entities. As of today, their commitment is to disseminate the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), promote changes for the benefit of their localities, share successes of the Agenda, among other actions.
