President celebrates Grupo Mexico’s search for solutions to environmental disaster it caused in Sonora River / @lopezobrador_ @GobiernoMX >>>

#GobiernoDeMéxico.- At the head of the morning press conference, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador celebrated Grupo México’s intention to dialogue with the Government of the Fourth Transformation in order to reverse the environmental disaster it caused in the Sonora River.
«The day before yesterday, a letter arrived at the Ministry of the Interior from Grupo Mexico with the intention of establishing a dialogue to address several issues and one of them is to seek a solution to the problem of the contamination of the Sonora River,» he informed.

The company’s request, he said, is to set up a round table and review the studies led by the Ministry of the Environment and Natural Resources (Semarnat), in order to correct the serious damage to the ecosystem.

«The Secretary of the Interior (Luisa María Alcalde Luján) informed them that there is the best disposition to carry out this meeting, this dialogue, as long as it is required and, of course, that the representatives of the affected people of the Sonora River will be invited», detailed the President.

He mentioned that the Mexican Government’s integral plan prioritizes the health of the affected population.

«We must attend to all those who are sick, regardless of the result. If the company does it or does not do it, we have to take care of the people, health is a right, we are going to do it, we are doing it and we will continue doing it», he assured.
