With solid promotion strategy, Mexico positions itself as a world tourism powerhouse / @TorrucoTurismo @SECTUR_mx >>>

#SECTUR.- The head of the Ministry of Tourism (Sectur) highlighted the close relationship between his office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE), noting that as part of the new tourism policy, in 2019 the Tourism Promotion Council of Mexico (CPTM), an organization that had 23 offices abroad, which were replaced by the 147 Embassies and Consulates of Mexico in the world, was extinguished.

He pointed out that, following up on the Framework Collaboration Agreement, signed on April 4, 2019 between the SRE, through the Matías Romero Institute (IMR) and Sectur, the online course «Fundamentals of Tourism Promotion» is being carried out, aimed at members of the Mexican Foreign Service, among other actions that contribute to strengthening their capacities to promote the different tourist destinations in our country.

Torruco Marqués told the Foreign Minister that the Permanent Tourism Observatory is also holding working meetings with the network of Mexican Embassies and Consulates located in our main tourism issuing markets around the world.

As part of the tourism promotion strategy, SECTUR launched Operation Knock on Doors, which consists of visiting important outbound markets, accompanied by state tourism secretaries, presidents of the main tourism chambers and associations, as well as businessmen, with whom meetings are held with the most important outbound tour operators, as well as travel agents and relevant investors, hotel executives, airlines or companies in the industry; As well as tourism authorities, mayors and governors, all with the invaluable support of the Embassies and Consulates of each destination, whose management allows us to take «precision shots» in each of these tourism markets.
