Mexico’s Single Window for Investors receives UNCTAD’s award for «Best Digital Information Portal 2023» / @SE_mx >>>

#Economy.- In the framework of the World Investment Forum 2023, organized by the Division on Investment and Enterprise of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), held in the city of Abu Dhabi, capital of the United Arab Emirates, the Mexican Single Window for Investors (VUI MX) was awarded as «The Best Digital Information Portal».

The award was received by the head of the Global Economic Intelligence Unit of the Ministry of Economy, Irais Barreto Canales, from the Minister of State for Foreign Trade of the United Arab Emirates, Thani Bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi; the Deputy Secretary-General of UNCTAD, Pedro Manuel Moreno; and the Director of Policy and Research of the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN), Matt Smith.

The award, given by UNCTAD in collaboration with the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN), recognizes countries that are innovating and at the forefront of digitizing their services to make life easier for investors.

The Single Window for Investors, under the responsibility of the Ministry of Economy, is a model of attention, support and monitoring for domestic and foreign investors, which provides legal certainty and transparency, whose implementation is part of the strategy of the Government of Mexico to attract investment through the use of digital tools that increase the efficiency of public service, facilitate processes, accessibility of information and promote a good business environment in our country.

In its first stage, the VUI offers a step-by-step guide, from the investor’s point of view, on the federal procedures that must be carried out to achieve the installation of an investment in our country; from how to establish a company, immigration procedures, social security, tax, trademarks and inventions, acquisition of real estate, access to trade promotion programs, among others.

In addition, the site links to the different governmental portals and services at the state level, offers different means of contact with timely response, links the investor with other institutions or government agencies and provides relevant information that helps the interested party in making decisions to materialize the investment.
