#Cultura.- Ran Rataplán Teatro was founded in 1997, in the port of Tampico, Tamaulipas, as a company made up of a family of professional actors who, with 15 years of experience, focus on puppet theater for children, young people and adults.

In an interview, the director and producer of Ran Rataplán, Mario Deance Guerrero, comments that they chose this name because it is associated with the beating of a drum that announces the beginning of the play, in the tradition of the traveling puppeteers.

The base of the group is formed by 12 people between brothers and sons and they have around 18 invited musicians, painters, sculptors and some actors that always accompany them in the proposals that they generate, which to date include more than 80 stage productions of puppets, masks and marionettes.

«Puppets have always opened other frontiers, they have crossed those walls of communication to find or create a new language, thanks to the direct connection to the heart of children. The puppet is a marvel and the best tool to communicate how extraordinary literature is,» the interviewee stresses.

The interviewee comments that since he was a child he has carried in his hands and heart the dream that one day the teacher Nora Cristina Arreola Pasquel decided to start and that in this second generation ends in charge of the playwright Angel Hernandez, her son, who has written all the plays that the company has.

«We are very fortunate to have a professional playwright who is in charge of arranging all those letters that give identity to the company. Ángel Hernández has a great track record in Mexican playwriting, he is a National Playwriting Award winner and a member of the National System of Creators for the second time in playwriting».
