Issste inaugurates «Ánimas de Michoacán» offering to commemorate Day of the Dead / @drpedrozenteno @ISSSTE_mx >>>

#ISSSTE.- With the purpose of remembering the unique tradition of the Day of the Dead in Mexico, and with the participation of personnel and beneficiaries, the Institute of Security and Social Services of State Workers (Issste) inaugurated the «Ánimas de Michoacán» offering in the esplanade of the headquarters building of this organization in Buenavista.}

On behalf of the Director of Economic, Social and Cultural Benefits, Yezmín Lehmann Mendoza, the Deputy Director of Pensions, Anahí Vargas Vargas, highlighted the importance of commemorating this festivity recognized as oral and intangible heritage of humanity by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (Unesco). «Let us continue to remember and celebrate death as only Mexicans know how, with honor. Let’s impart it to every future generation».

He thanked the Institute’s cultural colleagues for their dedication and commitment in putting together the Purépecha-themed offerings in the towns of Lake Patzcuaro, Tzintzuntzan, San Pedro Cucuchucho, Ichupio, Ihuatzio, Santa Fe de la Laguna and Janitzio Island.

He urged those present to observe a minute’s silence for members of the Issste family who unfortunately died during the course of the year and in Hurricane Otis in Acapulco, Guerrero.

The Deputy Director of Social and Cultural Services, Francisco Enrique Pérez Hernández, pointed out that Issste continues to promote recreational and cultural activities among its beneficiaries and the population in general, with the aim of remembering our traditions and enriching us with the cultural diversity that exists in the country.
