#ÁlvaroObregón, #CDMX.- In Álvaro Obregón we work 24/7 to break the circles of exclusion that affect the most vulnerable groups, mainly people with disabilities, said Mayoress Lía Limón when she presided, together with the Mayor of Miguel Hidalgo, Mauricio Tabe, the delivery of various supports, including wheelchairs, by the TELMEX TELCEL Foundation.

While thanking Fausto Cota Chirino and Renato Flores Cartas, executives of the Foundation, for their support, Lía Limón emphasized: «to correct the contrasts and inequality that exist in our municipalities and in this city, it is necessary that we involve the government, businesses, and neighbors.

On this occasion, wheelchairs were delivered to beneficiaries of both municipalities, as well as tablets to students with the best grades and printers for the benefit of neighbors of Álvaro Obregón with high vulnerability.

In Álvaro Obregón, he pointed out, 5.2% of the population of the municipality has some kind of disability, that is, there are more than 50 thousand people, of which 30.5% have difficulties to walk, climb or descend according to INEGI figures up to 2020.

In this context, she recalled that this is the 7th delivery of wheelchairs with the support of allies, in which 348 chairs have been delivered, including the 30 of this occasion, and more than 130 canes and walkers: «thanks to these alliances we have been able to do more than we would have achieved alone».

She also highlighted that as part of the social action «Inclusion for a Dignified Life», in 2022, 241 wheelchairs, walkers, canes and crutches were delivered; and this year there will be 409 supports: 650 in total.

In his opportunity, Mayor Mauricio Tabe highlighted that these supports show that together, civil society, businessmen and government do much more to face the challenges of public order. «Public problems are not problems of the government, they are problems of society as a whole and we all have to work together to solve them».
