71 million tourists to arrive to hotel rooms in Mexico from January to October 2023 / >>>

#SECTUR.- The head of the Ministry of Tourism (SECTUR) informed that, of these, 52.8 million were domestic tourists, or 74.3% of the total; while 18.2 million were foreign tourists, representing 25.7%.

He specified that, in the first 10 months of the year, cities registered 39.5 million tourists in hotel rooms, while beach resorts received 31.5 million tourists in hotel rooms.

He added that hotel occupancy in these 70 monitored centers, from January to October 2023, reached 59.3%, which represents 3.4 percentage points more compared to the same period in 2022.

Torruco Marqués indicated that, in the beach resorts, the occupancy level in the first 10 months of 2023 was 66.2%, which represents an increase of 1.2 percentage points, with respect to the same period in 2022, when 65% occupancy was recorded.

He pointed out that, in the January-October period of this year, in city destinations, the occupancy percentage registered 53.1%, which in relation to the 47.7% recorded between January and October 2022, means an increase of 5.4 percentage points.
