#SECTUR.- In Dolores Hidalgo, Cradle of National Independence, also accompanied by the Secretary of Tourism of Guanajuato, Juan José Álvarez Brunel, the head of the Ministry of Tourism (Sectur) delivered the update of the appointment as Magical Towns to Dolores Hidalgo, Jalpa de Cánovas, Yuriria, Comonfort, Salvatierra and Mineral de Pozos; and with the first five an agreement was signed to implement the Magical Routes of Color initiative, which will allow the painting of the facades of homes in each of them, thus contributing to their beautification.

He emphasized that this work is possible thanks to the allies Comex and the civil association Corazón Urbano, the latter, experts in urban rehabilitation. He congratulated the Magical Towns for maintaining their designation, thus demonstrating their commitment to Mexico’s tourism.

He highlighted some of the tourist attractions that these towns have, which are important travel motivators, such as lakes, lagoons, Natural Protected Areas, vineyards, lavender fields, architectural constructions from the 16th to 19th centuries, old haciendas, aqueducts, historical museums, tule or talavera handicrafts and delicious gastronomic dishes such as escamoles, walnut mole, frog legs or garambullo snow.

Torruco Marqués said that as part of the actions undertaken to promote Guanajuato’s tourism wealth, there is the Catalog of Wine Tourism Products and Routes in Mexico, prepared by Sectur in coordination with the Mexican Wine Council and the state Ministries of Tourism; in which Guanajuato details its «Wine Route», which involves the municipalities of León, San Francisco del Rincón, Dolores Hidalgo and San Miguel de Allende.

He added that the state also has a presence in the Catalog of Accessible Tourism Products and Services, which describes and offers tourism products focused on people with disabilities, in order to favor their inclusion in tourism.
