In 2023, more than 66 thousand students of health programs were trained in Social Security / @zoerobledo @Tu_IMSS >>>

#IMSS.- More than 66,000 students of medicine and related areas were trained in different educational programs offered by the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), which confirms the institution as a leader in health education in the country and in Latin America, highlighted Dr. Carolina Ortega Franco.

The head of the Coordination of Health Education (CES) of the IMSS detailed that during 2023 the student body consisted of 18 thousand students in clinical cycles, seven thousand undergraduate medical interns, 10 thousand in social service, one thousand in technical careers, almost one thousand in post technical nursing courses, a little over two thousand in nursing degree courses and more than 27 thousand medical residents.

In the framework of International Education Day, which is commemorated on January 24, he pointed out that the Institute has Simulation Centers for Clinical and Surgical Excellence in Mexico City, Guadalajara and Merida, a state-of-the-art model in health education based on the development of competencies and skills of medical and nursing personnel and other health careers.

He highlighted that in these facilities, last year more than two thousand courses were given, training 14 thousand workers in person and more than two thousand through telesimulation.

He indicated that in 2023 authorization was obtained to invest in the construction, equipment and operation of four new Simulation Centers for Clinical and Surgical Excellence, as well as the development of a program to provide low, medium and high fidelity simulation equipment for 38 medical units at the three levels of care covering the whole country.
