Delfina Gómez’s government will expand distribution of Liconsa milk through DIFEM / @delfinagomeza @Edomex >>>
#EstadoDeMéxico.- In order to improve the nutrition of the vulnerable population living in marginalized areas of the State of Mexico, the Government of the State of Mexico, headed by Mrs. Delfina Gómez Álvarez, plans to expand, through the State System for the Integral Development of the Family (DIFEM), the Liconsa milk distribution centers so that a greater number of people can access the Social Milk Supply Program in the 125 municipalities of the State of Mexico.
At Liconsa’s facilities, Karina Labastida Sotelo, General Director of DIF State of Mexico, held a meeting with Victor Hugo Perez Rojas, Liconsa’s Social Supply Manager, as well as with the heads of the Municipal DIF Systems of the State of Mexico, in order to work hand in hand between the three levels of government, to extend this program for the benefit of children, teenage women from 13 to 15 years old, pregnant or breastfeeding women, the elderly, people with disabilities and people with chronic degenerative diseases.
Labastida Sotelo expressed that with El Poder de Servir, one of the main work axes of Governor Delfina Gómez Álvarez, is to attend immediately and primarily to those who need it most, and in this sense, human work chains will be generated to improve the quality of the vulnerable population.
She specified that since DIFEM is an institution that serves this population through the 125 Municipal DIF Systems (SMDIF) and Liconsa is a Federal Government company with social responsibility, it will be possible to work hand in hand to reach every corner of the state with more programs and services that have a positive impact on the quality of life of people with scarce economic resources and with diverse social problems.
In this way, he said, it will be possible to start up more milk distribution centers, given that although there are currently 1,378 dairies in the state, more are still needed to extend the benefit to marginalized areas, at low cost and with federal subsidy.
