SICT puts Tlapa-Marquelia road into operation in Guerrero / @jorgenunol @SICTmx >>>

#SICT.- The Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transport (SICT) informs that with an investment of 619 million pesos (mdp) it put into operation the 162.00 kilometers (km) Tlapa-Marquelia road that connects the region of La Montaña and Costa Chica of Guerrero.

The road benefits five municipalities in Guerrero, including Tlapa de Comonfort, Xalpatláhuac, Malinaltepec, San Luis Acatlán and Marquelia.

The renovated route significantly reduces travel times, which helps the commercialization of products and the supply of household goods in the surrounding towns, in addition to being one of the busiest roads for La Montaña and Costa Chica in Guerrero.

The Tlapa-Marquelia road carries an annual average daily traffic of 500 vehicles at speeds of 60 kilometers per hour.

In the conservation of the road, which has a 7.0 m road surface, 549 direct jobs and 2,196 indirect jobs were generated; the road included drainage, paving and signaling works.

In addition, on the Tlapa-Marquelia highway, the construction of the vehicular bridge and accesses at km 71+220, with a total length of 640 m, was carried out.

The structure of the vehicular bridge, with a length of 360 m, is made up of a 10.0 m wide body for two lanes of traffic; its structure is made up of 13 spans with lengths of between 25 and 28 m.
