In San Miguel de Allende, comprehensive security operation for Holy Week is ready / @GobMunicipalSMA >>>

#SMA.- In order to safeguard the tranquility of San Miguel residents, tourists and visitors during «Semana Santa», the Secretariat of Public Safety (SSC) is ready to deploy a comprehensive security operation.

With a joint effort with the state and federal levels of government, where the SSC, the State Public Safety Secretariat and the National Guard participate, a device will be implemented starting this Friday, March 22 and until next April 7, where all areas of the SSC (Municipal Police, Civil Protection, Transit and Mobility, C4 Operations Center, Transportation, Municipal Civic Court, etc.) will participate in coordination with the emergency bodies of this city.

As part of the preventive measures and in view of the multiple religious processions, the Direction of Transit and Mobility will implement road closures in the first square of the city, as well as temporary modifications in the public transportation stops, with the purpose of facilitating the vehicular flow and guaranteeing the safety of the attendees, prioritizing the pedestrian’s passage.

Together, the three levels of government will carry out surveillance patrols in areas of massive concentration, in order to maintain a safe and peaceful environment for the more than 10,000 visitors expected daily in the historic center. In the same vein, the Tourist Police will offer special attention to social proximity, with the capacity to provide first aid and attention to any emergency, thus ensuring the tranquility of tourists and visitors.

As for the spas, under a collaborative work with the state authority, the Civil Protection Department will carry out preventive actions in these recreational sites, including inspection and prevention tours, in order to ensure the safety of attendees.
