President announces that work on the AIFA-Pachuca, Mexico-Queretaro, Queretaro-Irapuato and Saltillo-Nuevo Laredo sections will begin this year / @GobiernoMX >>>

#GobiernoDeMéxico.- The President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, announced that this year work will begin on the passenger train in the sections: AIFA-Pachuca in March; Mexico-Queretaro in April; Queretaro-Irapuato and Saltillo-Nuevo Laredo in July, for which the Agrupamiento de Ingenieros militares “Felipe Angeles” of the Secretaría de la Defensa Nacional is already carrying out the basic engineering that will give way to the development of the railways.

“All the engineering work is still being done so that when it is ready, it will begin, either by military engineers or under public bidding, for the participation of private construction companies that can help develop the railroads. So, this is today’s good news”, he pointed out.

He specified that regarding the Lechería-AIFA train, in agreement with the concessionaire, it was decided that the military engineers would be responsible for the work, which is projected to be inaugurated in July and is 80 percent complete.

“Now it is already very advanced, the resources are in place and Military Engineers will finish it, and in July it will arrive at AIFA; and from AIFA, in March construction will begin towards Pachuca; then these two trains will be joined and it will arrive at Pachuca”, he explained.

He also announced that the AIFA-Pachuca and Mexico-Queretaro sections will be inaugurated in 2027.

The commander of the Agrupamiento de Ingenieros “Felipe Ángeles” de la Defensa, General Ricardo Vallejo Suárez, informed that they are currently working on the basic engineering of the stretches: AIFA-Pachuca; Mexico-Queretaro; Queretaro-Irapuato and Saltillo-Nuevo Laredo, which consists of defining the requirements, parameters, design criteria, conceptual designs, to give rise to the executive project of the work.
