#SRE.- Technical teams from the Federal Public Administration (APF) and the UN in Mexico held a technical exchange to advance in the elaboration of the Cooperation Framework for Sustainable Development 2026-2031.
As part of the collaborative process to define the programmatic proposal for Mexico’s new Cooperation Framework for Sustainable Development 2026-2031, a technical exchange was held between the resident coordinator’s office, the 22 agencies of the United Nations System (UNS), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and 22 Mexican government agencies.
At the meeting, the progress in the design of the 2026-2031 Cooperation Framework, the expected results and the lines of action that will guide this document were presented, based on a shared vision of inclusive, sustainable and resilient development, and in full alignment with the 2030 Agenda and the 2025-2030 National Development Plan.
The programmatic proposal of the 2026-2031 Framework is structured in four strategic areas: Governance and Rule of Law; Social Inclusion and Substantive Equality; Inclusive and Resilient Economy; and Environment and Climate Change, also incorporating four cross-cutting thematic priorities: women’s and girls’ rights, human mobility, indigenous and Afro-Mexican peoples, as well as youth.
The Undersecretary for Multilateral Affairs and Human Rights of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Enrique Ochoa, highlighted that the collaboration between Mexico and the United Nations System has yielded concrete results: from the strengthening of public policies in health, education and social protection, to the design of emergency response mechanisms, the fight against gender violence and the promotion of decent employment. This alliance has been, and will continue to be, an essential pillar for the development of our country.
For her part, Alejandra del Moral, executive director of the Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation (AMEXCID), stressed that the new cooperation framework must promote Mexico’s development under the principle of “leaving no one behind” and facilitate synergies with the APF to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
“At AMEXCID, we are convinced that international cooperation must be a catalyst for human development, environmental conservation, the fight against multidimensional poverty and the elimination of structural and emerging inequalities,” he said.
