Nurse of the IMSS Bienestar Program receives the “Lucia Salcido” award for 32 years of experience in communities of Puebla / @Tu_IMSS >>>
#IMSS.- In recognition of her 32 years of work in the IMSS Wellness Program of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), nurse Regina Pérez Juárez received the “Lucia Salcido Auxiliary Nursing Assistant Award” from the Director General, Zoé Robledo, as part of the commemoration of World Health Day and the presentation of the Public Health 2025 Decorations and Awards.
Regina Pérez Juárez is a General Nursing Assistant trained at IMSS and has been working at the Rural Medical Unit (UMR) of Camocuautla, in the northern highlands of the state of Puebla, for 8 years; she previously served in the community of Atlequizayan, in the same region, where she is originally from.
During the award ceremony, held in the “Dr. Miguel E. Bustamante” auditorium of the Ministry of Health, she thanked Social Security for the opportunity to have reached this point in her career. «I was invited to take a course because the people of the municipality wanted someone from there. So they invited me to that course and the Institute sent me to study. Thanks to the Institute I am here.
The award-winning nurse said she was happy to support people in vaccination campaigns, care for pregnant women, with chronic degenerative diseases, among other aspects. “I am happy, I like my job because my grandmother, when I started working, got sick a lot and that is why I liked this job, to support my family”.
Regarding her membership in the IMSS Bienestar Program, Pérez Juárez emphasized that as long as she is not told to retire, she will continue working in her medical unit and also in her community of Atlequizayan, where she provides support to anyone who asks for help.
In his speech, the president of the General Health Council and Secretary of Health, Dr. David Kershenobich Stalnikowitz, said that the award winners represent the continuity of the great work of those who have made public health a vocation and a life mission.
