#TlalnepantlaDeBaz, #Edoméx. – During the First National Drill 2025, 2,264 public servants from the government of Tlalnepantla took part in the evacuation of the Municipal Palace in a time of 2 minutes and 54 seconds, with one injured person.
The Municipal Directorate of Civil Protection and Integral Risk Management reported that the workers, as well as people who were inside the building carrying out procedures or procedures, participated in this drill whose hypothesis was an earthquake magnitude 8.1 with epicentre in the Gulf of Tehuantepec, off the coast of Oaxaca and more than 40 kilometres deep, according to the National Coordination of Civil Protection.
Pamela Arreguin, head of the local agency, pointed out that on the instructions of Municipal President Raciel Pérez Cruz, 94 brigadistas from different areas of the City Council participated, who were previously trained to raise awareness and learn the protocols for action in the event of a real emergency.

She added that, after this first drill, several areas of opportunity for improvement were identified, «that’s what these actions are about, to observe which functions we have to perform and practice to have a better evacuation, as well as to be able to act correctly during an earthquake».
The official explained that if a person takes more than 60 seconds from their place to the meeting or exit point, they must perform a retreat manoeuvre, which consists of standing next to the load-bearing walls to protect themselves in case the building suffers major damage.
Arreguin commented that «we are working hand in hand with City Hall staff to review the entire building, looking for safety zones and areas of least risk, checking evacuation routes, fire extinguishers and everything necessary to ensure its integrity».
He also called on «the public to take it seriously, we experienced it in 2017 and a drill had just been carried out, many people take it as a game or as a distraction and do not put in the necessary effort; when the earthquake happened hours later it left us with a very sad lesson and that is why it is important that it is taken seriously enough to know how to deal with an emergency».
