#AtizapánDeZaragoza, #StateOfMexico.- The security strategy implemented by the government of Mayor Pedro Rodríguez Villegas has consolidated its position with historic results for the peace of Atizapán families. The most recent National Urban Public Security Survey (ENSU) by INEGI confirms that the unprecedented investment in technology, equipment, and human capital has generated a drastic improvement in the perception of security and social coexistence in the municipality.

Citizen confidence has been strengthened thanks to decisive actions. Atizapán de Zaragoza recorded a statistically significant reduction in the perception of insecurity, falling more than 7 percentage points, from 57.2% in March to 49.9% in June 2025. This figure, which is well below the national average (63.2%), is the direct result of a strategy materialized through actions such as:

Updated force and equipment: New personnel were incorporated into the city, and state-of-the-art weapons were recently delivered to combat crime.

Cutting-edge technology for surveillance: With the construction of a modern C4 in the Esmeralda Zone, a monitoring center that strengthens video surveillance and strategic coordination at a key point in the municipality.

Historic investment in patrol: The acquisition of 224 new units allowed for greater police presence on the streets, the consolidation of the Quadrant-Based Community Policing Plan, and more efficient response times.

Police dignity: Priority has been given to improving working conditions and providing ongoing training for each officer, recognizing them as the pillar of municipal security.

This strategy is operationally led by Commissioner Fabián Gómez Calcáneo, who has ensured unprecedented inter-institutional coordination, highlighting the joint work with the Mexican Navy, one of the security institutions best evaluated by citizens with an 87.5% national approval rating.

A safe and secure environment fosters harmony. As a clear benefit of this strategy, the municipality reports a drastic and statistically significant decrease in conflicts and confrontations among the population, falling from 44.2% to just 28.5% in the last quarter. This demonstrates that a more responsive police force and a community that feels protected directly contribute to social peace.
