#MinistryofForeignAffairs, #Mexico.- Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mexico Despite the challenges and limitations it faces, multilateralism remains the best option for achieving truly peaceful coexistence and shared prosperity in the world, while respecting natural and legitimate differences. Therefore, Mexico is convinced of the need to review this system and that of the United Nations to overcome the current circumstances, stated the Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Juan Ramón de la Fuente.

This Friday, the Foreign Minister chaired a high-level segment within the framework of the Multi-Stakeholder Local Dialogue: Central Zone, Alliances towards the Construction of the UN Cooperation Framework in Mexico and its Contribution to Sustainable Development 2026-2031, at the Mora Institute, where more than 150 representatives of civil society, the private sector, academia, and agencies from 11 states and the nation’s capital participated.

He emphasized the importance of this new framework for collaboration with the United Nations, based on dialogue, containing innovative and proactive elements that will overcome inertia and allow us, with a critical and self-critical approach, to find the best mechanisms for moving forward.

De la Fuente said that Mexico is in a position to contribute to the United Nations system, given that in recent years, the transformation of the country’s public life has led to the development of a new economic and collective participation model that has, in practice, allowed significant progress in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda, such as combating poverty and leaving no one behind.
