#CuautitlánIzcalli, #StateOfMexico.- During the 20th Public Session of the City Council, held at the Cuautitlán Izcalli Academic and Professional Unit of the UAEMéx (Unit Academica Profesional Cuautitlán Izcalli) in Mexico City, the mayor reiterated his government’s commitment to improving the living conditions of Izcalli’s youth. This meeting demonstrated the institutional interest in listening to and addressing the concerns of the new generations.

During his remarks, the young participants agreed on the need to be heard and considered in decision-making that affects their environment. They expressed their desire for their voices to be translated into concrete actions, and not just in isolated forums without follow-up. They demanded active and ongoing participation in the issues that concern them.

Among the main proposals highlighted during the session was the urgency of addressing youth mental health. They requested the creation of spaces for dialogue and open forums that include parents, teachers, and authorities. They also proposed the formation of support networks to follow up on these priority issues.

The young people also emphasized the need to create more opportunities for their professional development. They proposed granting scholarships to prevent school dropouts and creating more spaces dedicated to sports, music, and culture. These actions, they noted, will contribute to rebuilding the social fabric in their communities.

Finally, the participants thanked Mayor Daniel Serrano and the City Council for bringing this dialogue to their campus. They considered the forum a demonstration of genuine willingness to listen to youth. They reiterated their hope that these types of meetings will continue and yield tangible results.
