In Mexico City, more safety and better mobility: More than 20,000 potholes will be repaired on Álvaro Obregón @LopezCasarinJ @AlcaldiaAOmx

#AlcaldíaÁlvaroObregón, #CiudadDeMéxico.- With the goal of improving mobility and responding to citizen needs, the Álvaro Obregón Mayor’s Council approved the reallocation of more than 21 million pesos to address roads affected by potholes. This action seeks to strengthen road safety on high-traffic streets that are deteriorating and have been repeatedly reported.

The funds, originally intended for recreational projects such as the rehabilitation of Teololco Park and a candlelight vigil at the Foro de las Golondrinas, will be redirected to repair more than 20,000 potholes. The measure responds to requests received through the Dalia Virtual Platform, a citizen tool that has facilitated faster reporting and timely response.

During the session, Mayor Javier López Casarín emphasized that this decision puts the population first, prioritizing projects that directly impact their safety and quality of life. He stated that the most affected roads will be addressed with resources from the 2025 Additional Financing Fund for Mayoralties, approved by a majority of the city council.

In the same space, the Coordinator of Advisors, Héctor Hernández Llamas, presented the «Water Factory» project, which seeks to transform the urban environment from the Alameda Poniente to the Río Becerra Dam. The creation of a water park and a linear park measuring 11,000 square meters will promote aquifer recharge, reduce flood risks, and return green areas to the community.
